The backdrop for this gorgeous Oakland Family Session was Joaquin Miller Park, one of my favorite Oakland locations. It is located just off Hwy 13 as you head up the hill towards the Chabot Space and Science Center. It is perfect for families looking for an accessible location with gorgeous architectural features. I have done many sessions here over the years, and each one holds a special place in my heart.
A Love Story for the Ages
Let me tell you a little bit about this sweet session. I love a good love story, and this is one for the books.
These two – what can I say. What a pair. When their son-in-law contacted me for an Anniversary session, I was already excited. Then their daughter told me more about them, and I couldn’t wait. Robert and Janet were high school sweethearts. They went to prom together and then parted ways. After meeting again about 10 years after graduation, their love was sparked again. And now they have been married for 40 years! Janet’s laugh and smile are infectious, I don’t think she stopped smiling the whole session, and Robert was so sweet. He would come in for a quick kiss on the cheek and her eyes would light up and her smile would just get bigger. We got the whole family in for this session too including their two daughters, son-in-law and grandkids. It truly was a great way to commemorate their beautiful love and 40 years together.
