As a bay area maternity photographer, we don’t have a lot of bad weather days, but I know that bad weather can put a damper on your photo plans. But don’t worry! There are plenty of great back-up options available.
Indoor Spaces
If the weather forecast is looking grim, you can always reschedule your session for an indoor space or studio. This is a great way to ensure that your photos are still perfect, no matter what the weather is like.
Here are a few of my favorite indoor spaces in the San Francisco Bay Area:
- Creative Space Studios in Dublin is a beautiful, light-filled studio that is perfect for maternity photos. They have a variety of backdrops and props to choose from, so you can create the perfect look for your session.
- Sunrise & Sunset Studios in San Francisco is another great option for indoor photos. This small studio has great light, and with an upstairs with a different vibe, we can add variety to your session.
- San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers is a unique and beautiful indoor venue for maternity and family photos. The conservatory is home to a variety of plants and flowers, which create a stunning backdrop for your photos.
In-Home Sessions
Another great option for bad weather is to have an in-home session. This is a great way to get more personal and relaxed photos of your family. I love photographing families in their own homes because it’s a place where they feel comfortable and at ease.
Here are a few tips for having a successful in-home session:
- Choose a room in your home that has good natural light.
- Declutter the room and move any furniture that might get in the way.
- Choose outfits that coordinate with each other and with the décor of your home.
- Be prepared to have some fun! In-home sessions are a great way to capture the natural and candid moments of your family.
No matter what the weather is like, there are still plenty of ways to get beautiful maternity or family photos. So don’t let a little rain or wind ruin your plans!
